Hellos Beauties,

Recently Nykaa introduced the NYX Avant Pop eyeshadow palettes which makes your eyes pop. 6 matte shades, 3 gorgeous satin finish shades and one beautiful highlighter shade, well what else do you need in a eyeshadow palette? I have the ‘Surreal My Heart‘ in this category and I am quite impressed.

Let’s take a moment and see how gorgeous some of these shades are 🙂

You get 10 eye shadows of around 2.83 gms each and all of them are so Opaque except for shade 9.

Shade 2 and 6 are the most unique shades in this palette. 2 is a bright mint yellow but not ‘on your face’ bright and  6 is a shimmery grey colour.

Shade 3 which is a sea blue pastel colour and shade 7 which is a gorgeous blue, are the stars of this palette :). Both have a satin creamy texture and can brighten up any look.

Shade 4 brown and 5 mauve are good for the crease. Shade 1 looks amazing as a brow highlighter and I use shade 10 to get a matte liner look.

Price : Rs 1500

Ingredients :

All Shades Except Matte Black: Talc, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Kaolin, Lauroyl Lysine, Trimethylsiloxyphenyl Dimethicone, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Zinc Stearate, Dimethicone, Isostearyl Isostearate, Alumina, Quartz, Tocopheryl Acetate, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol. May Contain: Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Carmine (CI 75470), Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide (CI 77510), Ultramarines (CI 77007), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140).

Matte Black: Polymethyl Methacrylate, Kaolin, Talc, Lauroyl Lysine, Trimethylsiloxyphenyl Dimethicone, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Zinc Stearate, Dimethicone, Isostearyl Isostearate, Alumina, Quartz, Tocopheryl Acetate, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol. May Contain: Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77499), Black 2 (CI 77266).

Now let us look at the YAY and NAY points for this palette.

YAY

-> Very pigmented with and without primer.

-> Long lasting

-> Unique colours

-> Blends easily

-> Sleek plastic packaging, hence travel friendly

NAY

-> Very Pricey.  I agree the quantity is much more than the other eyeshadow palettes have, but it’s not of much use.

-> No mirror included.

> Fallout, though it is very minimal and can be easily swiped off with a brush.

Without Primer

So my verdict for this one. I would say 3.5/5 mainly coz for the NYX brand, it seems to be pricey. I love everything else about it :).

Hope this review is of some help to you girls 🙂

Until Next Time,

XOXO,

WWGal 🙂

Hi there Beautiful :).. First of all a very Happy Dasara – Dusshera – Navaratri – Durga Pooja to all :). So many different names but the same festival celebrated with the same enthu:). It’s time to take out our fanciest outfits, glitter makeup and get all decked up for the festival :). Today I will be showing you a festive day look makeup tutorial and then how you can transform the same into a night look as part 2  (read here http://wonderfullyweirdlife.com/2016/10/09/festive-night-makeup-tutorial-part-2/ ):). So let’s start.

img_6621

Here is the day look. I have gone for a double winged liner with gold glitter and Ombre lips using 2 lipstick shades. Before I begin, I would like to mention that this eye look is for hooded eyes. Hooded eyes is when your crease overlaps creating a hood due to which you do not have a defined crease. Most of the Indian women have hooded eyes due to which double winged liner, cut crease look is always a challenge for us. Here I am showing a hack through which you can get the double winged liner look.

Hooded part of my eyes

Hooded part of my eyes

-> Once the base is set (refer post http://wonderfullyweirdlife.com/2016/08/24/pink-smoky/ to know more), apply a black pencil liner, starting it from the upper lash line all the way uptil where the hood ends. You need to  keep your eyes open to know exactly till where you need to fill in. You don’t have to be precise in this. Just apply the liner and make sure it doesn’t go above the hood line.

Apply black liner pencil

Apply black liner pencil

-> Using a small angular brush, start smudging the eyeliner. Take any matte black eyeshadow and using the same angular brush, press this into your eyelid where you applied the eyeliner. This will make it defined and gives a matte look. Then fill in the gaps if any.

smudge

-> Next comes the double winged liner part. To define the line, start from your lower lash line and swipe a wing upto your desired length with the angular brush and black eyeshadow. Using the first wing as reference, swipe out another wing parallel to it starting from the hooded line. You can easily rub it off until you get it right.

define wing

-> Now that you have the base for the wings, draw the wings using a liquid liner.

img_6543

-> Use a small fluffy brush and clean up any fallouts. Keeping your eye closed, apply any nude eyeshadow on the remaining area of the eyelid. This way when you close your eyes, the entire look will be defined.

img_6549

-> Now comes the favourite part – Glitter :). Apply golden glitter liner in between the 2 winged lines. Then apply it on the upper lash line like you would with a normal liner.

img_6556 img_6559

-> Use any brown eyeliner or eyeshadow for the lower lash line. Use a white highlighter for the inner corners of your eyes and on the brow bone.

img_6566

-> Lastly I applied loads of Mascara and this completes the eye look 🙂

For the Ombre lip, follow the below steps. I would suggest using liquid lipsticks as it is easier to apply.

-> Apply a lip balm to moisturise and prep your lips. Then line and fill your lips using a nude lipliner.

-> Take a rosy pink lipstick and start with the centre of your lips. Apply it on the top half and below half of your lips.

-> Take a bright red lipstick and start from the corner of your lips. Fill in till where the pink lipstick ends. Start blending the red lipstick into the pink one using the lipstick applicator or a lip brush and you are done :).

I completed this look with a red bindi, huge nose ring and a pair of jhumkas 🙂

Hi there Beautiful,

Welcome back 🙂 ..Today I will be reviewing one of the amazing lipstick  from M.A.C. This is among their cremesheen amplified range in the shade Full Fuchsia.

img_5364Thanks to one of the girl from my besties gang, who gifted this to me:). This was way back when I wasn’t a makeup lover and lipstick was well ‘just another lipstick’  for me. But I am so glad because although I had heard about M.A.C cosmetics, I never ever owned any of their product. So this was like the first high end lipstick, my very own and definitely not the last one 😛

img_5362
Verdict :
Is this a Yay or Nay. It’s definitely a Yayyy for me and I would give it a 5 on 5 without batting my eyelid. I love everything about it. Infused with pearlized pigments and a moisturising serum blend, this cremesheen range lipstick is the new Yin and Yang for your lips:).

img_5363
What makes it Yay
  • It’s cream amplified that means it has a very creamy texture and glides very easily.
  • I use it without a lip liner as the pointed shape of the lipstick makes it easy to apply along the lines.
  • Like all other M.A.C. lipsticks it smells amazing.
  • Single swipe is more than enough but you can always go for another layer.
  • One of major plus points is this shade suits any skin tone be it fair, medium or deep.
  • Stays on for about 4 to 5 hours .
  • Classy packaging and travel friendly.
By the looks of it, you might feel this shade is a bit too much for morning wear but you will be wrong. There is a very similar lipstick from M.A.C in candy yum yum but unlike it, full Fuchsia never looks like on the face ‘PINK’. Infact I am quite surprised that there are a lot of reviews written on Candy yum yum but hardly any on Full Fuchsia.

Price : 17$ or around 1000 Rs for 3 g / 0.01 US oz
That is the usual price of M.A.C lipsticks but so much worth it. So if you are thinking of buying this, then please do not hesitate, go ahead and paint your lips pink 🙂
